Dr. Martha’s Facial Gua Sha treatment:
- promotes lymphatic drainage so reduces puffiness
- increases circulation and improves lymphatic function, resulting in a naturally dewy, glowing complexion.
- can be used to prevent and clear acne, decongesting the skin and lessening inflammation.
- stimulates blood circulation which increases the amount of oxygen and nutrients that reach the skin and can result in an overall clearer and brighter complexion.
- helps stimulate circulation, the technique itself oxygenates and carries nutrients to the skin cells.
- contributes to a more lively, plumped up and youthful appearance.
Regular facial Gua Sha treatments can prevent the signs of aging such as sagging, dull and wrinkled skin. The action of gently scraping the Gua Sha tool across the skin aids in serum/moisturizer product penetration, so those juicy phytonutrients go deeper into the layers of skin to feed us even more hydration.
We hold so much tension in our face and neck. Massage with a Gua Sha stone can really get into sticky knotted areas to release held muscular tension, thus allowing muscles to do their supportive jobs properly. You’ll experience a dramatic release of tension with Gua Sha. This can be a great tool for TMJ and headache sufferers. Relaxing our facial muscles regularly also prevents and fades light expression lines.
What it does:
Yes, it can be used as a FACIAL OIL CLEANSER too. Here’s why:
Helianthus annuus seed oil (sunflower) has emollient properties so softens and smooths skin (reduce roughness and flakiness) and provides a protective layer to help prevent moisture loss. That’s because it’s high in oleic acid, linoleic acid, and vitamin E.
Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins A, B-carotene, C, D, & E to help boost collagen and improve skin elasticity and it’s good for all skin types. It is said to address hyper-pigmentation and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It is ideal for facial cupping and gua sha and for cleansing because it helps regenerate skin cells, clean pores, and eliminate blemishes. It is also known to soothe rosacea and dilated capillaries.
Camellia leaves the skin smooth and more resilient. It helps to balance moisture in the skin and is good for all skin types. It is a transdermal carrier of bioactive compounds that help repair skin damage caused by sun and aging. It will help damaged or irritated skin like acne, psoriasis, eczema, and sunburn. It gives your skin a nourished look which is what facial cupping, gua sha, and using an oil cleanser are all about!
Helichrysum targets age spots and fine lines and wrinkles. Used as a cleansing oil or for facial cupping and gua sha, it promotes healthy skin cell regeneration and gives you a youthful, glowing complexion.
Bamboo (infused into the oil) is rich in silica which is an essential nutrient that helps keep your skin stay plump and healthy. It is loaded with antioxidants that help minimize wrinkles, make skin look younger, and protect the skin from outside pollutants. It is moisturizing and helps fade dark spots by reducing melanin production.
We know that these ingredients help treat acne – even the stress or “mask acne” that people (yes, teens) are having right now.
